After the overnight flight from Kennedy, the 13 Davidson students (plus Sarah Bennett ’10) made it to Ghana!
It was a long day for everyone. It’s about a 3 hour drive from the airport in Accra to Cape Coast. We then had a “snack” (a lunch by any other name), and then about half the group made it to town to buy some needed supplies; the other half rested. In addition to meeting our hostess Ann Hooper, owner of the Fairhill guesthouses, the students met the director and staff of the School of African Rhythm and Dance. Kojo, our program assistant, also met the group – but confessed to not totally memorizing everyone’s name. Kojo will have them all down in a few days.
