It’s been a year since Obama’s visit to Cape Coast, but there are still many signs of his visit.
This billboard is at Pedu Junction, where we turn off the Accra Highway either to go into downtown Cape Coast or to return to our guesthouse in Abura. Pictured are the two presidents – President Atta Mills of Ghana, and our own President Obama.
This weekend is one of our few weekends where we are not on the road or have events on our schedule. Everyone took advantage of the break, and scattered to pursue their own passions. My family and I took a relaxing break up at the Coconut Grove Beach Resort in nearby El Mina, where Michael spent a day in the pool. It was nice to lounge with the ocean breeze keeping us cool. We finished up the night watching the England-USA tie at the World Cup.
