The skies opened up and it rained all day long today. To be expected in the middle of the rainy season.
In keeping with that lazy rainy day feeling, for today’s post we wanted to share some of the songs that play nearly everywhere we have gone in our travels. Ghana is a country full of sound. We wake to the early morning call of the nearby mosque or the cry of our neighbor’s rooster. Then at night the frogs and crickets keep up their discordant trills. Driving around the taxis each blare their own tunes, oftentimes switching the radio station to match that of the stalls outside. Over time we’ve learned the lyrics for some of the songs. Then of course there are the songs repeating in people’s heads all over the world, what with the World Cup in full swing. Enjoy!
Waka Waka (Shakira)
Wavin’ Flag (K’naan)
Swagga (Ruff n Smooth)
Kiss Your Hand/I Do (R2Bees)

Africa is quite blessed to host the recent world cup and as a Ghanaian I’m quite happy to see Ghana participate fully in the games. It’s time for Africa. 🙂
